Youth Soccer League – Cairo

Filed under: sport — scotsabroad @ 5:54 pm

Cairo signed up for the Cairo Youth Soccer League for this season. His first training session was last Monday evening and his first competitive game for the Colorado Rapids was today. A bit American but very well organised. I checked the web site this morning ( and thought Cairo’s team were playing at eight this morning. However we were not on until ten. Cairo loved it, played for three out of the four quarters and competed well in the heat. When he was taken off the team was only a goal down but the final result showed a shed-load of goals for the opposition. Couldn’t resist some sideline coaching and have been asked by the manager and coach for assistance. I would prefer to be just a footballing dad. Just one season with Dundee son and then…

  1. Come on the Colorado Rapids! Great to hear Cairo is playing for a team and

that his dad will be coaching. Look forward to hearing about future wins.

  2. A soccer dad! I remember that you found this type of dad a challenge in good old ross and cromarty. I am sure that you will be a splendid example of a restrained footballing father. Keep us up to date with Cairo’s progress and goal average… oops I almost becasme a surrogate soccer dad all over again.
